Description
Most collagen products give you one type. Your body uses several — and they do different jobs in different places.
This one covers five: types I, II, III, V and X, from four sources, with the cofactors collagen actually needs to be useful.
What's in a serving (3 capsules)
Multi Collagen Complex — 1,100mg
Hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides · Hydrolysed fish (marine) collagen peptides · Chicken bone broth protein concentrate · Eggshell membrane collagen
Hyaluronic Acid — 55mg
As sodium hyaluronate. Works alongside collagen rather than instead of it.
Vitamin C — 55mg (61% DV)
Not an optional extra. Your body cannot synthesise collagen without vitamin C, which is why collagen products without it are only doing half the job.
Biotin — 2,500mcg
For hair and nails. Please see the note in the safety section below about biotin and blood tests.
Where the five types go
Types I and III are the ones in skin, hair and nails — the most abundant in the body. Type II is found in cartilage. Type V appears in hair and in placental tissue. Type X is associated with bone. A single-source collagen gives you one or two of these; this covers the range.
Being straight about the dose
1,100mg per serving is a moderate amount of collagen. Powder products typically deliver more per scoop. What you get here instead is convenience — capsules you can take anywhere, no shaker, no taste, no gritty drink — plus vitamin C and hyaluronic acid built in. If you want a high-gram daily dose, a powder is the better format, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
How to take it
Three capsules daily, with or without food.
Collagen is a long game. Skin turnover alone takes several weeks, so give it two to three months of consistent use.
What you get
240 capsules — an 80-day supply at three a day. Nearly three months per bottle.
Common questions
When will I see a difference?
Most people report nails first, usually around six to eight weeks. Skin and hair take longer.
Can I take it with other supplements?
Yes. Check biotin totals if you take a separate hair supplement — many contain very high doses.
Does it need to be taken on an empty stomach?
No.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
No. Collagen is animal-derived by definition, and the capsule is gelatin.
Allergens and safety — please read
Contains fish and egg. This product contains marine (fish) collagen peptides and eggshell membrane collagen. Not suitable for anyone with a fish or egg allergy.
Contains bovine and chicken-derived ingredients, and a gelatin capsule. Not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone avoiding beef or pork-derived gelatin for religious or dietary reasons.
Biotin and blood tests. This product contains 2,500mcg of biotin. Biotin at supplemental doses can interfere with certain laboratory blood tests — including thyroid function tests and troponin tests used to diagnose heart attacks — and can produce falsely high or falsely low results. Tell your doctor you take biotin before any blood test, and stop taking it for a few days beforehand if they advise it.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medication or have any medical condition, consult your doctor before use. Not intended for anyone under 18. Keep out of reach of children.
